MAF have been growing rapidly through winning a series of sizeable contracts. The business has focussed on fulfilling these contracts as a priority rather than focussing on the the most efficient manufacturing processes. Following a recent unsuccessful grant application MAF now wants to take time out to analyse their overall manufacturing process from ordering of raw materials from their suppliers through to finished goods distribution. This should be done through value stream mapping to identify improvements opportunities. These improvements should then be ranked using an Ease-Effect analysis to prioritise the most impactful activities for MAF.

The objective's of the project are:

1. Create a value stream map of the process from ordering raw materials through to finish goods distribution.
2. A list of prioritised improvement activities for MAF to implement
3. Elimination of waste in manufacturing processes
4. Optimisation of key assets i.e. Improving OEE
5. Reduction of inventory in both production stores and WIP.

This project serves as a foundation for the digitalisation of MAF but the leadership team want to instil good manufacturing practice to drive as much improvement as possible without the need for capital investment in the business.

This project must be delivered within a maximum of 7 working days and to a maximum value of £7,000 including VAT.
