A central aim of the Service is to maximise people’s independence, wellbeing and minimise whole life costs of care. It is anticipated that people will be supported to transition to reduced or no ongoing long term sequential service following reablement support. This will be achieved by setting and working towards clear, personalised reablement goals with the person; developing daily living and problem-solving skills and utilising the right equipment, technology, living aids and community assets.

Providers will need to register for each transport category they are interested in. Of the deaths reported to the Coroner, approx. 1300 each year require a post mortem, equating to 40% of reportable deaths. The DPS seeks to let contracts to a number of suppliers who shall provide post mortems and associated mortuary facilities for: • 1,300 – 2,000 PMs per year • Histology and Toxicology where required • Provision of PM reports • Swift TATs to ensure that the deceased are returned in a timely fashion
