ENQ1179 - Cost Consultant - Guildhall (#REQ-5602)
1. Wates is the contractor on the Guildhall project; it is the refurbishment of 2 buildings, the Grade II Listed Guildhall and 30 – 31 Market Place.
2. The project budget as advised by Wates is circa £24.5m. The Council’s aspiration is to deliver a project with a final cost significantly lower.
3. The Council has an external cost consultant undertaking the day-to-day role. The project board wishes to appoint a further cost consultant to undertake benchmarking at the end of RIBA stages 2, 3 and 4.
4. The role it is seeking to appoint is benchmarking, £/m2, progressing to elemental benchmarking further down the line in Stage 4, plus report at each stage.
5. There will be a need for a kick off meeting plus meetings with Wates at the end of each RIBA stage. There will also be a need to present each report to the Council.
