W705 - External Audit Engagement Services on Behalf of the CMAP Audit Partnership (#REQ-5011)
CMAP are looking to appoint Lighthouse Consulting Ltd directly, to perform audit engagements on behalf of the audit partnership, as this organisation are the incumbent service provider presently working alongside CMAP for one of the partnerships clients (for which they would likely continue in this capacity, should the client become a partner in the future). A relationship has already been formed in respect to operating within the CMAP working practices /utilising CMAP systems and procedures, and performing work to the required CMAP standard(s). They are also competitively priced, past experience dictates that we would unlikely be able to engage services from the open market at a lower price. It would also take considerable time in forming a relationship with any new organisation and training them up to operate to the required protocol(s), for which we have limited available resource and capacity to undertake, when these factors are already in place. There is a requirement to have internal audit in the UK public sector.
