TD2016 - Bikeshare Mobility Corrals (#REQ-4973)
The purpose of the Mobility Corral project is primarily to facilitate the successful launch and on-going implementation of the joint Nottingham and Derby bikeshare scheme, provided by Lime Mobility. The corrals will promote a consistent approach across the two councils and ensure users have a similar experience in both cities.
They will provide a safe and secure parking solution for the scheme, as well as improving parking provision for all cyclists. The creation of dedicated zones will mitigate potential parking issues that cities across the country are already facing with regards to shared transport.
This project has strong links to the broader TCF & FTZ objectives and enhances existing projects:
- increasing levels of cycling, supported by a consistent quality of cycle parking
- increasing the attractiveness of new or improved cycling routes delivered through other TCF projects through the placement of corrals
- Enhancing the mobility hub concept being developed through FTZ by providing mini hubs that all will be accessible via the shared transport applications, including micro-mobility and eScooters
The proposed procurement route will be higher the Highways Framework, by Whitehouse Constructions. This will be delivered under lot 5 of the framework and the project is already assigned on the framework issue register.
