The Pork Pie Way, Melton Mowbray, was officially opened to traffic in April; however, the permanent road signs have not yet been installed due to delays in agreeing the sign specification and procurement process. Melton Mowbray Borough Council has recommended a specialist supplier to manufacture and install the signs, as the road naming and highway signage require compliance with specific local authority design standards and approval requirements. The absence of road signs is generating regular enquiries from local members, residents, visitors, emergency services, and other stakeholders. Installation of the signs will improve wayfinding, assist emergency response services, and provide a completed appearance to the newly opened road. The project will procure and install the required road signs for The Pork Pie Way at an estimated cost of £7,070, ensuring compliance with local authority requirements and addressing ongoing stakeholder concerns.
