TD1948 - TCF Bus Stop Passenger Information Screens: Supply, Installation and Maintenance (#REQ-5342)
Derby have been awarded £61m as part of the Transforming Cities Fund, which is to fund a number of projects across Derby, including public transport, walking and cycling schemes. The end date for spending this funding is provisionally 31 March 2024, this is awaiting confirmation from the Department for Transport. This programme is a joint scheme with Nottingham City Council and was approved by Cabinet on 10 June 2020 to be added to the work programme.
The aim of the project is to improve the connectivity of all journeys across Derby and provide transport choices to reduce the dependency on the car and improve the associated infrastructure to ensure that the user has the best experience.
As part of the strategic corridor project, 111 electronic information displays will be provided at key bus stops on the arterial routes. These signs provide confidence and assurance to the passengers waiting for the bus service and can reduce the need for paper timetable information at the bus stops.
Within the cost of the proposal is a 5 warranty, maintenance, and support package to ensure the smooth delivery of the works and to manage the ongoing system and upgrade as necessary.
The supply and installation of the displays is being procured through an existing framework with the D2N2 partners, providing value for money.
