ENQ1295 - Specialist VAT and SDLT Advice for Becketwell Duckworth Square (#REQ-5364)
PS Tax to write a high level technical report covering the risks to Derby CC. At this stage, we propose covering:
• VAT liability of the works (including developers performance payment, costs, and management fee) and comment on VAT reverse charge issues referenced in your email
• VAT liability of land transactions - any sale and leases
• Potential for VAT recovery
• Effects on Partial exemption and recommendations to protect the Council
• SDLT relief on sale and leasebacks - and how to qualify.
This will cover both Options 1 and 2. If you require us to provide any comment on Option 3, please let us know how this differs from the previous options and we can adjust the quote to allow this. Please let me know if there is anything else you would need us to cover but at this stage, we expect the works to cost between £2,200 and £3,300 plus VAT
